The Talent Crisis

Today, there are 500,000+ unfilled IT jobs[1] and there will be a shortage of 2.4 million STEM workers in the U.S. by 2028[2].  Globally, expect 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity jobs globally by 2025[3] and a talent shortage of over 85 million people by 2030.[4]

It’s not only tech.  The US is projected to have a shortage of over 200,000 nurses[5] and 100,000 physicians by 2030[6] and a shortage of over 2 million manufacturing jobs in the next decade.[7]

This is not a temporary shortage due to low unemployment rates; it is a lack of workers with critical skills. Increasing the crisis is the fact that young professionals who have skills, tend to change employers in a little as two years. Finally, it’s not only young professionals. With over 10,000 boomers retiring every day, most companies also foresee a future leadership shortage.
